If it isn't glaringly apparent, I'm excited about the new Thundercat album. I think Stephen Bruner is this generation's Stanley Clarke (I was originally thinking he was this generation's Jaco Pastorius but this album is definitely more Clarke/George Duke than Weather Report) and I am not alone in singing the praises of his work. At long last, The Golden Age of Apocalypse is upon us. The album drops next week but courtesy of Hype Machine, you can stream the album all this week before its release. Between this and Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey's Race Riot Suite (streaming here at Nextbop and also releasing on August 30th), you should be well covered for jazz goodness.
