BBNG on WBGO's The Checkout

Simon Rentner spent some time talking with the guys in BADBADNOTGOOD recently at the Montreal Jazz Fest on WBGO's The Checkout. Head on over to hear a discussion of how the band has grown and evolved over the years, plus some discussion of "Electric Relaxation" (though I might add that "Electric Relaxation" relies on a sample of Ronnie Foster's "Mystic Brew", which has also been added recently to the end of "Boogie Woogie Stomp" by Robert Glasper and Jason Moran) and "Flashing Lights" and their various inspirations. They talk about their experience working with some hip-hop royalty and include a bit of their work with Ghostface Killah. Well worth listening if you've got any interest in BBNG or if you really want to finally hear what the big deal is.

Also, a reminder that BBNG's III recently came out-- check it out after the jump.

BBNG are at the Montreal Jazz Fest and currently touring Canada, then heading to Europe before coming back across the Atlantic:
