Charles Lloyd is a true jazz legend who hasn’t stopped astounding us with his creativity and inventiveness ever since he stepped on the scene in the 60s, ever reinventing himself since then and always knowing how to surround himself with the brightest musicians available to him. On April 20th, Mr. Lloyd was, rightly so, honored by the National Endowment for the Arts with a NEA Jazz Master award. Check out the short tribute video made in his honor below the jump and if you haven’t already go watch the EPK for his most recent Blue Note album Wild Man Dance , featuring among others Gerald Clayton, Joe Sanders and Gerald Cleaver.
