You’ve by now heard of LA saxophonist Kamasi Washington. The Thundercat and Flying Lotus collaborator, who also performed on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly, released his ambitious, some might even say overzealous, debut The Epic a couple weeks ago. We already published “Re Run Home”, the first single from the 3 hour album which features a core band augmented by a 32-piece orchestra and a 20-person choir on Nextbop. Now check out Washington in a much more intimate setting performing a very dope, some might even say epic, duo improvisation with bassist Miles Mosley.
Sébastien Hélary co-founded Nextbop in 2009 with the objective of introducing modern jazz music to a younger generation of fans. Aside from music, his other main obsession is food, particularly ramen and other Japanese delicacies.
