Zhenya Strivalev’s recent Robin Goodie album is a great recent release featuring a hard-grooving band (pick it up here). Zhenya brought a band to Small’s Jazz Club a couple of weeks ago to stretch out on these tunes. The band featured Zhenya on sax along with Alex Spiagin on trumpet, Aaron Parks on piano, Matt Garrison on bass guitar, Matt Penman on double bass, and Eric Harland on drums.
