Fabled is a UK band spearheaded by saxophonist and clarinetist Sam Rapley and rounded out by Alex Munk on guitar, Matt Robinson on piano, Conor Chaplin on double bass and Will Glaser on drums. Following up on the success of their recent eponymous EP and their extensive touring of the UK, Fabled with be releasing their debut album Short Stories on September 28th. Grandiose and cinematic, at times reminiscent of countrymates Mammal Hands and Gogo Penguin, but also drawings from such diverse inspirations as Tigran Hamasyan, Debussy and Ravel, Short Stories is a unique and thoughtful offering full of novel and refreshing aesthetics. A pure joy from beginning to end sure to brighten up the gloomiest of days. A breath of fresh air sure to reinvigorate the most downtrodden soul. Stream Fabled’s newest single, “The Picture House”, below for a foray into their musical universe, and if you like what you hear be sure to purchase the album when it’s released.
