Vocalist Sarah Elizabeth Charles is set to release her sophomore album Inner Dialogue tomorrow on Truth Revolution Records. To celebrate the occasion, Nextbop is premiering the second single off the album, “Bells”, the first being “White and Blue” which we put up two weeks ago. “Bells” features the S.E.Charles Quartet, namely Jesse Elder on piano, Burniss Earl Travis II on bass and John Davis on drums as well as Christian aTunde Adjuah (formerly Scott), who also co-produced the album, on trumpet. You can pre-order Inner Dialogue on Bandcamp. Also, if you happen to be in NYC on March 30th, make sure to check out the Sarah Elizabeth Charles Inner Dialogue NYC Release Show/Christian Scott Birthday Celebration at Le Poisson Rouge. Furthermore, Charles will also be performing at Jazz at Lincoln Center on April 10th and 11th for Celebrating Lady Day, a celebration of the centennial of Billie Holiday’s birth also featuring vocalists Andy Bey and Molly Johnson, music director and pianist Peter Martin, drummer Ulysses Owens, bassist Robert Hurst, and saxophonist Melissa Aldana. Stream “Bells” below the jump.
