Guitarist Gilad Hekselman is consistently captivating. His 2013 album, This Just In, is such a strong release that I still personally keep it in rotation and may feel a bit distraught that I may have to divide my attention from it a single drop to make way for Hekselman’s new release, Homes, out next month. However, Homes is yet another fantastic album that we’ll rant and rave about from the talented guitarist. For starters, the new album includes a bouncy take on the Pat Metheny chestnut, “Last Train Home”. However, not only do Hekselman, Joe Martin, and Jeff Ballard play the song great on the album (with usual bandmate Marcus Gilmore throughout the rest of the album), but Hekselman has also released an interactive 360-degree video of his performing the song on a rooftop. The video shot by Simon Yu is quite impressive, and another layer of greatness on top of an already great song. Dig into the video after the jump.

Gilad Hekselman – Guitar & Roof-gardening
Sam Anning – Guitar & Bass
Rogerio Boccato – Percussion
Kush Abadey – Drums

Homes, the new album from guitarist Gilad Hekselman, is out October 9. You can pre-order it now on iTunes, Amazon, and at Hekselman’s website.
