Pianist Dave Meder is the youngest piano faculty member ever to be hired at the University of North Texas‘ prestigious jazz program (he’ll be there teaching alongside new faculty members Nick Finzer and Scott Tixier).
In February, Meder will be releasing his debut album, Passage, on OutsideIn music alongside Kush Abadey on drums and Tamir Shmerling on bass throughout much of this very contemporary straight-ahead album.
Though the release is a ways out, Meder is releasing the first single and video for “Elegy” featuring Chris Potter on tenor saxophone. Give it some play after the jump and keep Passage in mind when it drops early next year.
Passage, the debut album from pianist Dave Meder, is out February 2019 on OutsideIn Music.
