It was sort of a foregone conclusion that Thundercat would play Hannibal Buress’ Comedy Central show. I mean, Flying Lotus is the house DJ (though, as he notes in the first segment of last night’s episode, he doesn’t get to play much), he’s right there. Thundercat was just on a couple of weeks ago backing up Open Mike Eagle. This time the bassist performed his own song, “Them Changes”, off his new EP, The Beyond / Where the Giants Roam, alongside keyboardist compatriot Dennis Hamm (with FlyLo providing the beat). It’s a more stripped down take on the song that lets the lyricism resound a little more than usual. Check out video of the performance after the jump.

And there’s still a tour going down, so take note of that.
