I was cutting short on time getting to the radio station and figuring out what to play this week. It felt like more of a challenge than usual, which was odd because I felt like I prepared adequately heading up to the station. Nevertheless, it all came together. An hour of time still passes and newness is still spread.

Bill Frisell – God’s Wing’d Horse
Considering the direction of where the rest of the hour was seeming to go, I felt this was best placed in the 1 spot.

BADBADNOTGOOD – Salmonella

Tomeka Reid – Old New
I’ve really been enjoying what I’ve heard of Old New and I also wanted to make a Mary Halvorson set of very new works, so this was exciting on multiple counts.

From our blog: Tomeka Reid Quartet – “Old New” (Stream)

Taylor Ho Bynum – Neither When Nor Where
This song is a super cool ride that also seemed more chill than I felt trying to scramble together putting the rest of the hour together still.

Mndsgn – Frugality

Chase Baird – Wait And See
I’m still coming back to the well that is A Life Between.

From our blog: Stream Saxophonist Chase Baird’s Lead Single “Ripcord” Off ‘A Life Between’ (Premiere)

Steve Lehman Trio + Craig Taborn – Curse Fraction
It’s going to be a while before I even start thinking about taking The People I Love out of rotation.

From our blog: Steve Lehman Trio + Craig Taborn – ‘The People I Love’ (Album Review)

Portico Quartet – Offset
I’m super looking forward to Memory Streams.

From our blog: Watch the Video for “Offset” Off Portico Quartet’s New Album ‘Memory Streams’

Mndsgn – Convert

Kneebody – When It All Comes Down (Feat. Gretchen Parlato)
I was particularly excited to play some new Kneebody this week.

Taylor McFerrin – I Can’t Give Your Time Back
I’m going to keep this in play for a bit.

From our blog: Stream Taylor McFerrin’s “Now That You Need Me” Off New Album ‘Love’s Last Chance’

Resavoir – Whoa
I was kind of running out of sudden ideas to fill out the hour, so I went with an older one that I’m more than happy to revisit.

John Coltrane – Blue World
Blue World just dropped so this felt like the right time to play this song again.

From our blog: Watch the Video for “Blue World”, the Lead Single From the New John Coltrane Album

Teebs – View Point

The Royal Krunk Jazz Orkestra – Black Indian Rain Dance
Seb just interviewed Russell Gunn last week, so it seemed right to toss in the RKJO for synergy’s sake.
