The Taormina Jazz Festival will kick off on July 31st with Jason Lindner: Now vs. Now. This hot new jazz group is comprised of Jason Lindner on piano and keyboard, Panagiotis Andreu on electric bass and vocals, and Justin Tyson on drums.
Following Jason Lindner: Now vs. Now on August 1st is the Francesco Bearzatti Quintet featuring Dino Rubino. This group of five is comprised of Francesco Bearzatti on sax, Alessandro Presti on trombone, Dino Rubino on piano, Pietro Ciancaglini on bass, and Emanuele Primavera on drums.
The second half of the festival begins with the Roberto Gatto PerfecTrio on August 2nd. A very famous jazz trio in Italy, this group is led by pianist Alfonso Santimone. He is joined by Pierpaolo Ranieri on electric bass and Roberto Gatto on drums. This innovative group is sure to delight all jazz fans, from the most traditional to the experimental.
The grand finale of the Taormina Jazz Festival on August 3rd is the famous Italian trio: The Danilo Rea Trio. Led by Rea himself on piano, this group has a wide repertoire of jazz compositions, both covers and original pieces. The other two members of the group are David King on drums and Ares Tavolazzi on bass.
