Dear readers,

Today is a glorious day as we are announcing the beginning of a new journey for you, for us and for our humble little website. Nextbop has always strived to bring you the finest in new and innovative types of jazz music through its writing. We are now proud to introduce to you the Nextbop Album of the Month Club, which will henceforth be bringing you our favorite cuts of modern jazz music in all of its physical beauty straight to your doorstep.

Alas, we are saddened by the toil today’s modern day music consumption trends are taking on physical albums sales and record collections alike, hence we want to do our part in getting CDs and vinyls into the hands of humans. There’s nothing quite like opening a new record and pressing play for the first time. It’s what we live for. It’s a little bit of Christmas on any given day of the year. The anticipation. The surprise. The intro. The first few notes. The head. The smell of freshly-printed liner notes. The artwork. Granted Spotify’s convenient, but why must the two be mutually exclusive? Can we have our cake and eat it too? We sure as hell think so!

So here’s your chance to help us in our mission to promote new types of jazz music while getting cool stuff along the road. Donations begin at $20 and are charged to your credit card on the first of the month. We want this to be a surprise every month, but in order to get a little traction, we’re going to announce our musical selections for February 1st.

$20: Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah’s The Centennial Trilogy (Triple CD)

$30: Terrace Martin’s Velvet Undergrounds (Double LP)

$35: Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah’s The Centennial Trilogy (Triple CD) + Sarah Elizabeth Charles’ Free of Form (CD)

$40: Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah’s The Centennial Trilogy (Triple CD) + Terrace Martin’s Velvet Undergrounds (Double LP)

$50: Terrace Martin’s Velvet Undergrounds (Double LP) + Mark de Clive-Lowe’s Church (LP)

$75: Terrace Martin’s Velvet Undergrounds (Double LP) + Mark de Clive-Lowe’s Church (LP) + Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah’s The Centennial Trilogy (Triple CD) + Sarah Elizabeth Charles’ Free of Form (CD)

Greed is good when it comes to building that record collection you’ve always dreamed of. And trust us we’ve got your back when it comes to this. Get ready for some amazing surprises along the way! So go ahead and sign up for the Nextbop Album of the Month Club. You know you want to. And, as always, thank you for your support.
