Multiple Grammy Nominee and Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellow, Miguel Zenón is incontestably one of the most ground-breaking and influential saxophonist of our times. According to the MacArthur foundation: “This young musician and composer is at once reestablishing the artistic, cultural, and social tradition of jazz while creating an entirely new jazz language for the 21st century.” Blending contemporary jazz with music from his native Puerto Rico, Zenon offers a unique foray into the depths of his soul. Zenon performed last February with his quartet, composed of Luis Perdomo on piano, Jorge Roeder on bass and Henry Cole on drums, at the Polish Jazz Festival Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa.
