Things are back to normal again. I was back in the studio live. I was able to add new music to the library from a production room in the hour before and add new things to my phone (something that had really been hanging me up the last few weeks). I was able to tie a review I wrote to the show, which is always pleasant. It’s a fun hour, like normal.
The Line-Up for 18 October 2019
Camila Meza & the Nectar Orchestra – Atardecer
I stumbled upon Ambar in the library and felt it was a great fit for the 1 spot this week.
Jonti – Flesh of Morning
Miles Okazaki – The Castaway
I’m keeping things rolling for The Sky Below, particularly since it drops this week.
Tomeka Reid Quartet – Niki’s Bop
I’m definitely still getting into Old New and enjoying playing it on the air.

Portico Quartet – Signals in the Dusk
I’m definitely not over Memory Streams after reviewing it recently. It’s one of those that’s going to stick with me for a little while.

Teebs – _for phil
Jon Batiste – Anatomy of Angels
Somehow, an earlier plan for this hour involved a couple long tracks. That idea eventually fell away as I was wrapping up planning out the show, but this idea still remained and I liked its positioning in the middle of the hour.
Flying Lotus – FLOTUS
Javier Santiago – Fearless
I really need to write something about this album soon, especially since it just dropped.
Mustafa Khaliq Ahmed – Happy Birthday, Nelson
I had a little extra time in the hour and felt this was the perfect addition.
Junius Paul – Asé
This song is a cool build up to a great deal of fun early on in an album that’s even more fun, but you’ll hear more about that later.

Sun Speak – Mbira
This song is all kinds of fun that I’m psyched that I’m playing on the radio finally.
Flying Lotus – Tiny Tortures
Steve Lehman Trio + Craig Taborn – Curse Fraction
Of course, I’m keeping this in rotation as long as possible. I actually had another song in this spot in an earlier plan for the hour but changed my mind and kept true to my heart.
