Vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant has been on a steady rise to stardom ever since winning the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. Her sophomore effort WomanChild, on Mack Avenue Records, earned her a GRAMMY nomination for 2014’s Best Jazz Vocal Album. In addition, Salvant won four categories in the 2014 DownBeat Critics Poll: Jazz Album of the Year, Female Vocalist, Rising Star–Jazz Artist and Rising Star–Female Vocalist. Just a little over a week ago she performed at the Jazz à la Villette Festival is Paris in anticipation of her third opus, For One To Love, just released once again on Mack Avenue. Check out the hour and a half performance by the vocalist and her usual acolytes pianist Aaron Diehl, bassist Paul Sikivie, and drummer Lawrence Leathers below the jump.
