In live performances, the central motif of Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah’s introduction of saxophonist Braxton Cook is about how cute he is (it concludes with him being completely gangsta’, though, so don’t let the cute face fool you). Women swoon upon seeing him. They pay a little too much attention to his lips. This Negro has dimples, for crying out loud. There’s a joke in there about how dates can become uncomfortable based on womens’ gaze on the young musician. But who knew this boy could sing?! Yesterday, Cook dropped a video of him performing his song “I Can’t”, singing with mad chops, playing it out alongside guitarist Andrew Renfroe, bassist Joshua Crumbly, and drummer Jonathan Pinson. Check out the video after the jump.
Braxton Cook – Saxophone & Vocals

And if you’re itching for more or Cook’s work, check out the EP he released back in August with Butcher Brown.
