ERIMAJ's 'Conflict of a Man' x Charles Burnett's 'Killer of Sheep'

We're just one week out from the release of ERIMAJ's Conflict of a Man, the debut album from the jazz/soul band led by drummer Jamire Williams (Side Note: Dude held it down on the latest Dr. Lonnie Smith album, The Healer, but we'll talk more about that later). To add to the continual hype, the folks at TAO2BNIL mashed up a track (an unused clip of "Unrest While Bird Talks) with a clip from the little known but revered classic 1979 Charles Burnett film Killer of Sheep (i.e. the inspiration for the album cover of Mos Def [now Yasiin Bey]'s The Ecstatic). Watch it here and keep your ears to the ground next week.

Finally, just another reminder that if you're in NYC next week, you should head over to the album release party at Joe's Pub on August 21, put on by Wax Poetics Magazine. No, really, is it next Tuesday yet?
