Yaron Herman's newest album, Follow the White Rabbit, was recently released in North America. We've had it for months now and it's been an absolute torture to keep it to ourselves. It's really SiCK. No other way to describe it. Three songs from the release are now available on Yaron's NextPlayer: 2 brilliant originals entitled "Follow the White Rabbit" and "Saturn Returns" as well as his killer cover of Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box". Check it out, and if you like what you hear go cop it. We'll also be giving away signed copies next week on Nextbop. So stay tuned for more.

With Follow the white Rabbit, Yaron Herman’s exuberant ACT debut, the 29-year old Israeli pianist takes a cue from Lewis Carroll, bringing his penchant for mischief to an array of genre- bending original compositions and covers, leading the listener down the rabbit hole of his unique sound world. Featuring bassist Chris Tordini and drummer Tommy Crane, the trio blends keen group improvisation, a pop sensibility, and classical counterpoint with an inexhaustible energy that leavens fearless experimentation with a strong foundation in jazz tradition.

We've had Yaron Herman's latest album, "Follow the White Rabbit", for AAAAGES, but we had to keep quiet until it's North American release. Needless to say, it hasn't been easy. The LP is FUCKING SiCK!!!!!!!!!!! Yaron's definitely finding his voice. The album features a few covers, including Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Boxed" (Check out this rendition with Ambrose Akinmusire) and Radiohead's "No Surprises", but it's really Herman's own compositions that stand out, particularly "Saturn Returns", "Trylon" and "The Mountain in G minor". In any case, I stumbled on this vid from this summer's Marciac festival where Herman, Tommy Crane and Chris Tordini showcase the band's Radiohead cover. So here's your first teaser from Yaron's "Follow the White Rabbit". More on Nextbop.com shortly.
