We’ve been waiting on pins and needles for the latest work from Christian Scott. That wait is soon coming to an end. Trumpeter Scott, vibraphonist Stefon Harris, and saxophonist David Sánchez are releasing Ninety Miles, the album the group recorded together in Havana, Cuba (if there were ever a time for liner notes, it’ll be to read how they pulled that off), on June 21 on Concord Records. The album also includes pianist bandleaders Rember Duhard and Harold López-Nussa for nine tracks of multicultural celebration. Needless to say, this is a project worth copping.

Somehow Anthony stumbled on a teaser video yesterday for a new album by Stefon Harris, David Sanchez and Christian Scott entitled Ninety Miles. What we gather from this vid is that the 3 jazz superstars went to Cuba to record an album with a couple of local musicians, namely Rember Duharte and Harold Lopez-Nussa. The record is scheduled to come out on June 21st. Here's the teaser vid as well as an interview with Devin DeHaven, who took photos of the recording.
