Grand Pianoramax, the unconventional trio of Leo Tardin on keys, Dom Burkhalter on drums and Black Cracker on rhymes, is set to drop their newest EP, Big Easy, on us May 8th. The album marks the debut of their collaboration with Swiss based label Mental Groove Records. The four track EP is, according to Tardin, "more laid-back, less dark, resolutely dancing and funky", while still staying true to their unique blend of jazz, rock and hip hop. See for yourself by watching the official music video for the single “Big Easy” below the jump. The EP can be pre-ordered on iTunes and Bandcamp.

We’ve been fans of Grand Pianoramax ever since the launch of this site over five years ago. The group, now made up of Leo Tardin on keys, Dominik Burkhalter on drums and rapper Black Cracker skillfully blends jazz, hip hop, rock and funk to create music that is both poetic and enticing. Watch a full concert video from their March 2014 performance at the Jazz A Vaulx Festival in France, in support of their fourth release Till There's Nothing Left. If you like what you hear, you can purchase the album via Grand Pianoramax’s Bandcamp. Video courtesy of Arte expires March 30th.

It's been a bit of a long wait for something new from the inventive trio that is keyboardist Leo Tardin, percussionist Dominik Burkhalter, and lyricist Black Cracker, known to us all as Grand Pianoramax. Yet, a new album is soon upon us. April 19th brings forth Till There's Nothing Left, out in Switzerland on the ObliqSound label (international release dates are still pending). The trio are continuing in the direction they showed in 2010's Smooth Danger but with darker tones. It's definitely worth checking out. Watch the making of video, listen to a preview of the album, and check out the upcoming tour dates after the jump.

Someone come up with a clever name for these link dumps. I’m open to suggestions (among other things, we are an open submission site, you know).
